Frequently
Asked Questions:
Why can I only order 10
pounds of rice this year?
We
have a limited supply of rice this year due to varying
water levels in our lakes and rivers in northern
Minnesota. We want to serve all our customers so we will
limit each household order to 10 pounds. We are hopeful
that our 2025 harvest will be more plentiful and can
accept order over 10 pounds. Thank you for understanding.
What if I
dont have a pay pal account?
You can pay by credit card thru the pay pal invoice. As
we understand it, when you click on the pay invoice
button Pay Pal will prompt you to enter your card number
and information to complete the purchase.
You can send us a check. See FAQ below.
Can I pay by check?
Yes, If we agree to this by email or phone. We will
process the order after the check is cashed and cleared.
Is there a way to save on shipping:
We ship from rural Minnesta, therefore have limited
shipping options. If we can see a less expenseive way to
ship your package, we will refund any excess payment.
Is there a
price difference for larger orders?
All our rice is $15.00 a pound.
Can I order in bulk of more than one box at a time?
We are limiting our orders to 10 pounds per order.
Thank you for understanding.
Is the wild rice gluten free?
We cannot assure this but as far as we know no gluten
products are mingled in the harvesting or processing of
our rice.
Do I need to rinse
the rice?
We like to give it a rinse by putting it in a bowl before
transferring it to the cooking pan. This insures that any
surface dust or anything floating such as stray hulls or
sticks could be discarded before cooking.
What is your
recipe for cooking wild rice?
Rise 1 cup
Wild Rice in a bowl of water.
Discard what floats. Gently pour off water.
In small sauce pan, add 3 - 4 cups of water and 1/2
tsp salt.
Let rice come to a boil.
Turn down to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes uncovered.
Cover and let set 10 minutes.
Enjoy!!
